Vivek Vahini

College runs various programmes for the overall development of the students. Vivek Vahini,Shankarrao Jagtap Arts and Commerce College,Wagholi Tal-Koregaon Dist.Satara. an Extension unit of ‘Maharshtra Andashradha Nirmulan Samittee’(A committee for eradiction of Superstitions,sponsored by the Government of Maharashtra) is formed in 2012, with the goal to innovative and cultivate scientific mind-set amongst students and community. Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, a well-known social-activist from Satara is known as its pioneer and founder. He visited a large number of colleges covering almost all districts from Maharashtra to create the scientific approach among the students and teachers and motivated them to establish ‘Vivekvahini’ an open platform for rational thinking. Due to his movement Govt. of Maharashtra
compelled all educational institutions to establish Vivekvahini with specific objective.

This unit of the college which aims at the eradication of superstition and promotion ofscientific approach works in consistent collaboration with the Andhashradha Nirmulan Samiti.Periodic meetings and group discussions are held on behalf of Vivek Vahini unit of the college.
