Department of Economics

The Economics Department at SJAC College Wagholi provides undergraduate-level education in economics with a focus on theory, real-world application, and career preparation, especially for government exams and further studies.

Vision
To undertake quality higher education in economics and research and extension with students and society at the center stage and furthering research and extension on the foremost social and economic problems of local, State, national and international level with the aim of providing valuable solutions for decision makers for the betterment of human life.

Mission
1.Our mission is to strive hard to realize the vision of ourfounder Shankarrao Jagtapi.e. to make education accessible to the masses, and to mold responsible citizens by inculcating noble values and thirst for knowledge.
2.The Department of Economics of in this college shall always strive to undertake education and research in economics with the singular purpose of contributing its might
to enhance economic betterment and social welfare.
3.To contribute to the society and the business community by development graduates with current business knowledge and skill through relevant curricula and encouraging the knowledge base by engaging in business research.

Goals and Objectives
The department aims to impart knowledge in various economic fields, develop students’ personalities and communication skills, equip students with practical economic knowledge for employability and entrepreneurship, conduct socio-economic research for regional development, and encourage student participation in activities, support students.
