Department of Geography
Shankarrao Jagtap Arts and Commerce College The Department of Geography plays an important role in developing students’ understanding of the Earth, environment, and human activities. The department offers knowledge of physical geography, human geography, environmental studies, and map reading skills. It focuses on developing analytical thinking, observation, and research abilities among students. Various activities such as field visits, map-based practicals, seminars, and project work are organized to provide practical knowledge. The department also encourages awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable development. Students from this department get career opportunities in teaching, research, urban planning, environmental management, and civil services.

Vision:
- To create learners who can apply geographic knowledge for sustainable development,social equity and scientific decision-making
- To build competence in analyzing spatial pattern.
Mission:
- To provide a strong foundation in physical and human Geography .
- To develop critical thinking about environmental issues, climate change, resource
management and socio-economic inequalities.
Goals and Objectives:
- To enable students to understand the earth’s physical process
- To promote awareness about sustainable development and environmental conservation.
- To develop the ability to apply geographical knowledge to solve local regional and global problems.
